These drawings and their facsimiles deal with perception and transformation. Small, intimate drawings have been digitally scanned and printed as large-scale photographs, exploring shifts between private/public, low-tech/high-tech, expressionistic object /objective document. Psychological and neurological function and dysfunction, the meanderings of the subconscious, the impulse to label and categorize are suggested in these works. The specimen bags in which the drawings reside signify them as material for diagnosis, criminal evidence or medical contaminant. The prints expose the private, a ubiquitous act in the cultural obsession of voyeurism and self-inspection.
